Footballtennis (English. Footballtennis) - a team sport, which emerged in Czechoslovakia. In 1922, members of the football club Slavia Praha played "football on a string", later replaced by a net. This new game has rules similar to volleyball, but the hands do not play. In 1936 he had written the first official rules.

First Cup on Footballtennis was played in 1940. Until 1962 Footballtennis is a recreational sport. In the same year founded the Czechoslovak League, but only in Prague. In 1987 - the International Association of Footballtennis. European championships have been started since 1993, the world championships - in 1996.
